Exorbitant alcohol use resulted in approximately 88,000 deaths for around 2.5 million years of future life lost annually in the United States from 2006– 2010, reducing the lives of those who died by approximately three decade. Further, extreme drinking was responsible for 1 in 10 deaths amongst working-age adults 20- 54 years of age.
